Happy Birthday To Us Celebration!

We will be celebrating 5 years on October 4, 2008!  This is quite a milestone and we have some fabulous things planned for the entire month of September leading up to our birthday!

Free Cupcake Block Pattern

Pick up your free 6 1/2" block pattern and create an original cupcake block in celebration of our birthday.  Create it anyway you wish, embellish, quilt and bind.  Then on the backside please write your "Birthday Wish" for the shop, sign and date it.  Please return it to us no later than October 1.  We will then have them all on display on our birthday, October 4!  These will be kept by the shop.

Daily Doorprize

A daily doorprize of a $20 gift certificate will be given to one lucky person every Wednesday and Saturday during the month of September.  You will automatically be entered into the drawing with your purchase on those days.  The rules are simple:  One entry per day with purchase and you must be at least 18 years of age or older.

Birthday Presents For You!

Starting on September 1 through October 3, you have the opportunity to enter into a drawing to win a birthday present!  Each day you purchase something, you will be entered into the drawing.  On Saturday, October 4 at 12:00 noon, we will draw five (in honor of our 5th birthday) lucky winners!  Each will win a $50 gift certificate to the shop.  If you are present when the drawing takes place, it goes up to $75!!  Again, the rules are simple:  One entry per day and you must be 18 or older.  This is in addition to the Daily Doorprize.

Demonstrations and Refreshments

Join us at the specified times to see a demonstration of the following things:

9:30 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. - Floorcloths

10:00 or 1:30 - Punchneedle

10:30 or2:00 - Various Rulers: what are they used for and how to use them

11:00 or 2:30 - Angler II: the simple way to sew on the diaganol

11:30 or 3:00 - Rotary Cutting:  The basics on how to cut the correct way

We will be serving light refreshments all day! 

  Pick up your newsletter at the shop which includes a History of the Shop, staff bios and some free recipes!!

Paisley Party

Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.

Preview the fabrics for this Strip Club, pre-register for $40, come to the meeting and receive the pattern for free!  We have some neat things planned this time, of course!

Hoffman "Bali Beauties" Club

This club will run for six months starting in September of 2008.  We have the entire collection of Hoffman Bali Handpaints on order!  Club members will receive their choice of fat quarters at $2.25 each, half yards for $4.50 each or yard cuts at $9 each of each one that arrives during the month.  As you know, these are fabulous prices, but you must sign up in order to get these discounted prices!  Once the fabric hits the floor it will be at normal price.  You will also receive an additional Fat Quarter free!   What a great way to collect all those gorgeous batiks!  Call or stop by the shop to get signed up!  We must have a credit card on file and we will ship at an additional cost!

Mainely Fun Quilt Shop Hop

Fall Sampler

We have adopted the Maine Children's Cancer Program, Scarborough Center, to do a blanket drive for.  There are approximately 55 children each year that come through the Center to receive treatment.  We all know how a quilt can comfort someone.  Please join us as we collect quilts for these special children.  Donate a lap/throw size quilt, any color or scheme you wish.  We will be collecting blankets all year long.  Our goal is to donate as many quilts as we can to this center.  If everyone on my e-mail list donated just one blanket, we could support this center for quite a few years!  Won't you please join me in bringing some comfort to these children?  Thank you in advance for your support!    Kathie Chenard
